It's all about the weather

Prospect Park, Spring 2005

I'm really disappointed that I'm going to miss the upcoming Spring/Summer in New York. I'm stuck in Chicago until late summer/early fall. There's a general outpouring of good-natured behavior in NY once the weather starts warming up. Everyone wants to be at the park, sit out on the patios of bars and restaurants, and take their leisurely time getting to wherever it is that they are going. I'll miss it, but hopefully I'll be back soon.

BBW

I'm really loving Built By Wendy's spring collection. I wasn't too crazy about the last fall collection, with the exception of a few pieces, but this spring's color palette and silhouettes are gorgeous.

A few of my favorites:

My last trip to NYC I paid a visit to the Williamsburg BBW store, where my favorite person in the world bought this dress for me:

It pretty much made my week.

for like ever

This poster is pretty old news in the design world, but that's how long I've been agonizing over it. I usually like things that are classic, as art with modern everyday elements (cell phones, mentions of the internet) and the like usually end up embarrassing me. The over-use of the word "like" as a placeholder in conversation really grates my nerves, so overall I should probably hate this poster.

There is something about it that just speaks to me, and makes me feel hopeful. I guess that is good enough in itself.

the tube of you

If I ever decide to subscribe to the institution of marriage (I've always wanted that tax break), I hope this will be played at the wedding at some point:

Since I don't know Icelandic/Hopelandish, the song might end up being about killing baby seals, but it just sounds perfect.

you really got a hold on me

This song has been in my head for days, thanks to the advance of the She & Him record I've been listening to non-stop.

The Beatles in '69 take a stab at it:

first timers, beware

I've spent all day on Etsy using the suggestion tool.

I bought this print:
